A couple probably in their 30s came in and sat in front of me at church last Sunday. They should have stayed home in bed. While the preacher was preaching, they continued to whisper to each other; he put his arm around her and drew her close, and one time he whispered to her, then he bent forward and she scratched his back. Not just in one place, but all over his upper back. I was trying to concentrate on what my pastor was saying, but this behavior in front of me distracted me from the Word of God.
Then while the pastor was speaking about gearing up our faith in the Lord, the couple began talking to the young couple in front of them and handed back and forth a digital, world-wide tablet. Heaven only knows what they were looking at. I bet it wasn’t the Holy Scriptures.
A few minutes later that woman sitting in front of me stood up and I saw her butt crack for a split second before she pulled her shirt down to cover the top of her jeans. Oh, Lord, did I really see what I thought I saw in church? She walked out of the sanctuary and came back a few minutes later. But that butt image ruined my concentration, and I thought there is always next Sunday to hear the pastor’s entire sermon unencumbered. I’ll just have to make sure I’m no where near that couple.
